Queens, New York — Police are investigating a deadly shooting at Roy Wilkins Park in St. Albans after a 15-year-old boy was shot and killed following a dispute on a basketball court on Thursday evening.

According to police sources, the incident occurred around 6:15 p.m. on April 16 at Roy Wilkins Park near Merrick and Baisley Boulevards. The victim, identified as 15-year-old Jaden Pierre, was found near the Nautilus Playground basketball courts after suffering a gunshot wound to the chest.
Fight Escalated Into Gunfire
Investigators believe the shooting followed a physical altercation involving several teens on the basketball court. Reports indicate the victim was initially beaten by multiple individuals before one person allegedly produced a firearm and opened fire.
Victim Died in Hospital
Emergency responders transported the teenager to Jamaica Hospital in critical condition. Despite medical efforts, he was later pronounced dead.
